Twiage App Helps OSF Prepare ED for Incoming COVID-19 Cases

December 8, 2021

A new video has been released by OSF Saint Francis in Peoria, showing how their use of the innovative Twiage app is helping them better prepare for COVID-19 cases that arrive at their hospital. OSF Saint Francis has been using the novel communication app with their regional EMS partners for years now, and recently released a case study showing the positive effect it has had on their ED throughput, patient outcomes and communication workflows. When the current health crisis started, leadership at the hospital realized they could take advantage of Twiage’s built in customization to design a module specifically for the COVID-19 outbreak. Says Debbie Trau, Nursing Director for Emergency Services at OSF Saint Francis: “You can see on the screen, they can select COVID-19, TB, measles, and flu so it can be used for many purposes but it changes the color of the font so anyone who is receiving that patient on the monitor screen can see that this is a potentially infectious patient. This module was quickly enacted and has been utilized quite a bit over the last five weeks” Twiage is proud to work with such an innovative partner as OSF, especially in a time of heightened need.
